The Montgomery TechLab (MTL) Defense Accelerator celebrated the conclusion of Cohort 3 with Demo Day on August 25 at the Department of the Air Force Information Technology & Cyberpower (DAFITC) Conference in Montgomery, Alabama.
After 11 weeks of intensive programming, mentorship, defense-market education, and pitch development, four cohort companies — Culper Systems, DDC-I, Moro Motion, and Omega Security — took the stage on the DAFITC exhibit floor to showcase their technologies and demonstrate how their solutions can address challenges within the defense ecosystem.
Each company delivered a five-minute presentation before a panel of four judges, highlighting its technology, mission relevance, and potential for continued growth within the defense market. The companies competed for $10,000 in non-dilutive funding to help advance their work beyond the accelerator.
Following the presentations and judging, Moro Motion was named the Cohort 3 Demo Day winner and awarded $10,000 in non-dilutive funding.
Demo Day represented the culmination of the work completed throughout Cohort 3. Over the course of the accelerator, companies strengthened their defense-focused messaging, refined their pitches, developed technical and strategic materials, and gained greater insight into navigating Department of Defense acquisition and engagement pathways.
Hosting Demo Day during DAFITC also gave participating companies an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and put that work into practice, showcasing their capabilities while connecting with members of the defense, government, and technology communities.
While Demo Day marked the official close of Cohort 3, it also represented the beginning of the companies’ next phase as they continue building relationships, pursuing defense opportunities, and advancing technologies with the potential to support mission needs.
Demo Day was a strong culmination of 11 weeks of growth, collaboration, and preparation, showcasing the innovation and potential represented across MTL Defense Accelerator Cohort 3.
