On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Montgomery TechLab hosted an impactful ROTC Mentoring Session during the Department of the Air Force Information Technology and Cyberpower Conference (DAFITC).
Moderated by Brigadier General Marvin Crook, USAF (Retired), the session featured a distinguished panel of military and Department of the Air Force civilian leaders who shared candid insights about leadership, career development, resilience, service, and the importance of mentorship. Following the panel discussion, cadets participated in small-group mentoring sessions, allowing them to engage directly with experienced leaders, ask questions, and receive practical guidance for their personal and professional journeys.
Cadets from Air Force ROTC Detachment 17 at Troy University and Detachment 19 at Alabama State University brought tremendous energy and thoughtful engagement to the session. Their participation demonstrated their commitment to becoming prepared, capable, and service-minded leaders.
