The Montgomery TechLab hosted a Tech Talk on Thursday, July 11th highlighting the advancements of artificial intelligence over recent decades and discussing both its capabilities and inherent limitations. Guest speaker and Alabama State University CIS Instructor, Saroj Sahoo, dove into how AI has profoundly reshaped industries and transformed daily life alike by introducing various functions including natural language processing, image recognition, and machine learning. Despite its remarkable flexibility and skills, participants also learned its boundaries in specific areas where human creativity, intuition, and emotional abilities become crucial, and therefore, irreplaceable. Through engaging and collaborative discussions, participants were able to grasp a stronger understanding on what artificial intelligence is and how it shapes communities, businesses, and much more. Participants and speakers explored AI’s current state, its future trajectories in different fields, and the ethicality of its integration into society.
